Ejected!

The Tribe won 7-6 against the Rangers last night. Cool. The only thing that bugs me about them winning last night, is that most series when they've won the first game, they come back and suck balls the next two. It wasn't really a crazy game. There weren't any really big hits, or big fuck-ups to speak of, although Michaels did finally get a hit, and is now batting a whole .256 on the year.

Wickie got his 5th save of the year. Awesome, baby! What was up with leaving JD in for just one inning? He was doing fine. For a minute last night, I thought my husband was going to stroke out about it. He was pissed when they put Mota in for the 8th. I mean he was pissed. Like pissed like I was when they gave up that homer to Manny the other night. I ended up having to buy him a shot to calm down. Twisted, baby. Also, I thought, Johnson had an OK start.

We started last night at this one bar, that really blows. I don't even know why we went there, but anyhow. It's like 7:09, and no Tribe. Not even a flicker of going to change the ONE FUCKING TV in the joint to the game. Some damn game show was on. What the Hell? So we left, and went out to our normal joint over in the Lakes. Just as we get in the truck, figure out that the game's on WMMS, we hear Tom go..."EJECTED!" Refering to the 3rd base coach I believe, for the Rangers. How bitchin' is that? The guy has been calling games for as long as I can remember, and he still gets excited. That dude, is like, totally, the epitome of bitchin'-ness in my book.

4.27.2006

2..3..YEAH BABY, YEAH!

Ok, ok. I know. I'm excited, I really am. When they won last night 7-1, I figured, at best, I had too many shots of Jack at the bar, and was reading the score backwards. BTW, *Kisses* (I can do that, I'm a chick, remember?) to Cliff for kicking some BoSox ass last night on the mound.

But tonight, baby, they were on fire. The Tribe won 15-3. Yeah. 15 to fuckin' 3, baby! Yeah! Took the series. Another Yeah! Bennie got a grand-fucking-slam, baby! Jhonny got a 3 run homer! Byrdie got the win and improves 3-2! Yeah! Again! OK. Done with the shouting. I think. Good thing I'm here alone, except for the dog and kitties, who have scattered to the four corners of the house, due to me jumping around, and yelling like a loon for the last 15 minutes. Just happy, and very fucking relieved they didn't blow another series, especially this one. and they're just 2.5 games back from the top spot, cuz those douche bags on the other lake lost last night, and were off today. Cool, baby.

I would like to know why, Hollandsworth isn't playing more, however. This guy is kicking some ass at the plate, and doing way the Hell better than Michaels.

Ramblings, or Rumblings on The Tribe

They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over, and over again, and expecting a different result. Oh my Baseball Gods. Sounds like The Tribe, huh?

How fucking long is it going to take Wedgie to tweek the line-up? Why in the name of Christ, is Blake still in the 9th spot? Why is Jhonny still 3, and Micheals in the 2? Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you supposed to put guys that can actually get on fucking base in the top 3 spots? Are they gonna leave this same screwed up, not neccisarily sucking, but not performing as they should, line-up until the fucking All-Star break? The Tribe does have people doing what they should at the plate, but it never seems to be more than a handfull a night. I know guys can't get a hit every single time they're at bat, but going 0-3, or 1-4, just isn't enough.

What, exactly is going on with our pitchers? Not just the starters, but the bullpen as well. I'm sure the 'pen is feeling some pressure from the starters, as they're coming in, mostly sometime in 5th inning, but FUCK! You're major league pitchers, for fuck sakes. Obviously someone decided somewhere along the lines that you had some talent. Uh, yeah. So fucking use it. Starters gotta make it through the 6th, gotta. I don't remember the last game a starter went more than 5, and it's been a lot less than that in more than a couple of games. Both the starters and the 'pen need to start going the distance if they wanna even have a chance at October ball.

How long is going to take for Victor to throw someone, anyone out, stealing 2nd? I don't even want to know what how many this season, but last week sometime, I heard other teams were like 12-12, or 14-14 for steals. That is not good. I mean not fucking good at all.

If you always do what you've always done, then you'll always get what you always got. Translation: Keep playing this kind of ball, no fucking post-season. Again. So, like, get it together, 'k?

It Could Have Been Worse

But not by much. The Indians lost to the BoSox by a score of 6-8. Jake had a career high 6 walks last night, and was totally not on his mark. He did manage to have some interesting defensive DP's that completely saved his ass. My fav was the one with Manny getting tagged at 3rd. I swear he gets slower every year. They put Scott in for one inning, one pitch, and it was so a fucking homer. Nice job Scotty.

Schilling didn't exactly own The Tribe's asses, they did get quite a few hits off of him, trying to get some cusion for the pitchers. They had a crapload of multiple-base hits off him last night. A triple, and a single by Grady. A double and single by Pronk. A double, Single, and a homer by Bennie. A double a piece for Casey, and Boonie. Hell, even Micheals got one single last night. So, yeah, some of them were hitting, but looking at the box score, three, somewhat "big hitters" on the team didn't get one fucking hit last night. Guess who that would be? Yeah. Jhonny, Victor, and Ronnie.

And it was Mota that really fucked the game, by walking the dude before Manny, and giving up a 3 run homer to that fucker. Never, never, never walk the guy before Manny. That just pissed me off to no end. I understand the basic theory behind pitching to a guy, but wouldn't it have been better to just let Ortiz do whatever, and then if he hits one outta the park, at least it's only 2 runs insted of three. I knew, as soon as they started pitching to him, that Manny was gonna go off the reservation. My poor TV just about ended up wearing MGD last night.

Looking at the Standings is depressing. Tribe's lost 3 in a row, and are back 4 from the ChiSux. Praying to The Baseball Gods that Cliff has his shit together tonight, the bats are swinging and everything can come together and manage a fucking win for The Tribe.

Tribe Loses Another Series

What a shitty weekend that was. The Tribe lost Saturday and Sunday to the Royals. The Tribe's pitching sucked balls all the way around. Their offense must have gotten the early flight back to Cleveland, Sunday. The Tribe cannot drop series-es, especially series-es against ther Central Division teams. What the fuck happened?!?! They lost two games to one of the worst teams in baseball. It's one thing to lose, but to lose to KC, like they did, God.

With the weekend's losses, The Tribe goes back 3.5 games from the ChiSux.

The Tribe's off today, and taking on the BoSox Tuesday in Cleveland. They go from playing one of the worst teams, to playing one of the best teams. Will the outcome be different? I certainly fucking hope so. More so Saturday, than Sunday, I just wanted to burry my head in the sand and cry after the game ended. I honestly had a flash-back to The Tribe of the 1980's-early 90's. It wasn't a good feeling. I was back at old Muni Stadium, sitting next to my old man, behind one of those fucking poles, sipping my dad's beer, just to keep the game exciting.

But hey, every team loses. I'm keeping the faith, baby.

4.22.2006

Week 4 Power Rankings

Here they are. ESPN, and FoxSports have The Tribe 4th. Eh. They did blow last week, but could do without the smart-assed remarks from the ESPN dude. "When they lose, they lose big." Fucking jerk. The FoxSports guy blames the drop on the pitching situation, the 4 damn pitchers we now have on the DL. And those relivers we lost after last season. Cuz we wouldn't be having a shitty bullpen if Riske, Rhodes, and Howry were still here. Yeah. Sure thing, dude. They make a point of mentioning C.C. which boggles the mind. He hasn't pitched for most of the season, and suddenly, him not back yet, is an issue? WTF? How about a little more on the pen, this pen, the one we've got now, instead of the starters, and guys that aren't even on the roster anymore? The pen is where a lot of the suckage-supremage is coming from.

Tribe Beats KC!

Not that I thought they wouldn't, but you know The Tribe. They took the game with a 6-5 victory. While I'm thrilled The Tribe didn't lose last night, I swear, I thought I was gonna stroke out watching the later innings.

We can always count on Wickie to get the save, his fourth, BTW, colourfully. Cliff pitched OK through a little over 5 innings, had just 3 ER, keeping his ERA somewhat low at 3.33. I love how this works... Graves pitched to like one dude, and got the win. Mota took over for the 7th and 8th, and then of course Wickie came in for the ninth.

The bats were still swinging away last night, and all but three guys had hits, Pronk, & Victor both of whom did walk once each, and Boonie , who just sorta sucked balls last night at the plate. What bothers me about that, mostly Pronk & Victor not hitting, they are like the heart of the order. They gotta hit. The guys in front of them are doing what they gotta do to get on base, like Jhonny last night for instance. 2 hits, 4 RBI's He was smokin' baby.

The Tribe's bringing up Guthrie to help in the pen, Miller's likely out for good, I was too depressed about the situation to read any more than the first few lines of the story, but Here it is for anyone that wants it.

Byrdie's taking the mound tonight for The Tribe. He's got a 7.02 ERA on the year, and 2.74 v. KC lifetime. that 7.02 looks bad, until we look at the dude The Tribe's facing tonight. Joe Mays has a 5.85 ERA lifetime v. Cleveland, and on the year he's tossing a bad-assed 11.68 ERA. No, that's not a mistake. 11.68 for like 3 appearances. Obvioulsy, no wins either.

The fucking ChiSux beat the Twinkies 7-1, and Jim, just call me Jimmy, Thome blasted a two-run homer. Can you say douche bag? Sure. I know you can. That leaves The Tribe still back 1.5 games in the Central, tied with the Tigers, the Twinkies back 4, and Royals back a monstrous 8.5

4.21.2006

Uh, Yeah. Where was I?

Maybe I just wasn't paying attention. That happens sometimes, I'm a busy chick. They just put Bentancourt, on the 15 Day-DL. I suppose I just didn't want to think about it, and now it just blows my mind with the realization that The Tribe has four fucking pitchers on the DL. Three from the pen, and one starter. What the Hell? The thing that totally scares the shit out of me, is really, the pen, and the starters haven't completely sucked with losing those guys, at least not enough for me to want to brain them with something, yet. They brought up Slocum to replace Bentancourt. Ok. Great. Who the fuck is Slocum? I readily admit my ignorance of the minor league players, but I've never even heard of this guy. Ever. Long season, I know. But I'm becoming a little bit nervous now. It doesn't matter how hot the bats are if the pitching start to suck even bigger hairier monkey balls, than it has of late.

O's Take Game, Series From Tribe

It had to heppen. It had to. The Tribe lost the game yesterday, 9-4 and their first series to the O's. Fuckin' Fausto, and that's all I'm sayin' about him. The Tribe actually had some good stuff yesterday. The hits, they were in the lead at one point. But, I guess implosion is inevitible whe dealing with The Tribe.

They are now back 1.5 games from Chicago. I'm still praying that Thome gets hurt, and the ChiSux take a dive. They go up against KC this weekend, and if they don't sweep, I honestly beleive that I'll cry. Lee's pitching tonight, hopefully he'll pitch as well as he did on Sunday v. the Tigers, Victor's on a hot-hot streak, we'll see if he can keep it up.

STO really needs to get thier shit together. REALLY. The game cut out like 4 or 5 times yesterday during the game. What The Fuck! If I see that damn Brigs commercial one more time, I'm gonna fucking lose it.

4.20.2006

Yes. I Am.

As some of you may have read, Wednesdays are (one of) my nights out. According to some dude at the bar, I have a new name. Go ahead, guess what it is. Give up? I am now known as "that foul mouthed little girl who loves The Tribe." This particular dude, I've only met a few times, and this new name thing was said in jest, and he seemed to know his shit about baseball. He made me laugh. Until the 5th inning that is. Believe me when I say, even for me last night was bad. I can handle losing. I know The Tribe can't win all the time. They should not have lost that game last night. Certainly not by 9 FUCKING runs. And damnit. The ChiSux are now in first, and we are a full game back. Sonofabitch.

Let's hope that Fausto pitches the good pitch through, oh let's say...8.5 innings or so, and the boys' bats are still thirsty for more, the guys can take this series, and head over to KC with one more win under their belts . ChiSux are off today, and take on the Twins over the weekend. Go Minnesota, baby.

4.19.2006

There Goes That Idea

***Really bad language advisory for this post, well, worse than normal.***

Fucking Royals can't even score a run. Not one damn run against the ChiSux. They lost by 4. Fuckers. Both teams. Fucking Jim "My wife is my rock" Thome walked twice, and scored once. Asshole. At least he didn't homer. KC has one more shot at the Chisux tomorrow afternoon. Praying to The Baseball Gods that they don't get swept.

Got done with work early, and added a few more sites. Tribe Sports Club and, Tribe Vibes has some good reads. Also added The Ohio LeBlog cuz that live game bloggin' thing he did last week positively cracked me up.

Tribe Beats O's 15-1

Woh. 15-1 with 20 hits last night. 20 hits! The O's were completley off their game last night. Let's hope it doesn't come back and bite The Tribe in the ass tonight. Jason Johnson pitched an outstanding 7 innings, improving to 2-0. It was beautiful to watch, absolutlely beautiful. Graves and Sauerbeck finished the uneventful 8th and 9th innings.

As awesome as our defense was last night, the O's was at the opposite end of the spectrum all together. Their pitcher, Chen gave up 8 runs in 4 innings. 5 of which occured when first Victor hit a two run homer with Pronk on base, then Grady hit a three run homer and scored Ronnie and Casey. Grady, Victor, Blake, and Bennie, who came in mid-game as apinch hitter, all had 3 hits on the night. Jhonny, Pronk, Grady, and Ronnie all had two hits a piece. Michaels, and Hollandsworth, who came in for Pronk, both got a one hit. Boone left the game in the 7th, I think, after being hit in the wrist by a pitch. Can't find any info on him this morning, but last night, all they said, was he left with a contusion. So, we'll have to wait and see if he's in the line up tonight.

Later it will be Jake 3.66 ERA this year, and 2.83 lifetime against the O's, takes on Rodrigo Lopez , 5.66 ERA thus far, and 3.14 v. Cleveland.

I hope that the boys didn't use up all the kick ass hitting skills in one night. Honestly, there are two more games to go against the O's.

In the division, ChiSux again beat KC. Detroit lost to the A's. The Twins lost to the Angels. That leave the ChiSux tied for first with The Tribe, Detroit back 2 games, Twins back 2.5, and KC back 6.5. I wish KC would get their shit together a little bit, and win against the ChiSux.

4.18.2006

Still Tied In The Central

Holy crap. Not only were our boys' bats on fire yesterday, apparently the ChiSux were as well. The beat the Royals 9-0. Pray to The Baseball Gods that KC can come back and kick a little Chicago ass the next two games.

4.17.2006

Tribe-Tigers Split Series.

What an ass whooping the Tribe's bats delivered this afternoon! That's right, baby. The Tribe beat the Tigers 10-2 today. The bats woke up. Byrd pitched outstanding through 7. Yeah. So they're up a half game from Detroit, and we'll have to wait and see about the ChiSux. Go. KC. Go!

Since I forgot about it, this is the first time I'm seeing Cleveland Rants on FSNOhio. I'm very much not impressed. The show itself is fine. WKNR and the majority of their hosts are fine. But most of the callers. Holy shit. It seemed to me that just about every other caller had parents that were blood relatives. One dude asked if they thought Grady would be MVP this year, cuz in that moke's opinion, he's the best CF Cleveland's ever had. What? He's hitting like .304, with no homers, 1 stolen base, and only a couple of RBI's. There was also some fantasy discussions going on, who would add, if you could, Shelton, Thome, or Pronk. This other guy called, and said he'd add Pronk. Why? Cuz he's Pronk. No other justification. Ok then, buddy. Maybe the callers get better for an evening game, when there's a spike up in the intelligence factor of the viewers.

Today In The Central

We're starting this week with three teams tied for first in the Central. The Tribe, the Tigers, and the ChiSux. The Twins are back one game from the pack, and KC's back a whopping 4.5 games from the top of the heap.

Detroit and Cleveland face off this afternoon at 1:05, in Detroit. Byrd's starting for The Tribe, and has a 2.73 ERA against Detroit, and a horrid 10.24 after two starts this season. Our guys will be batting against lefty Nate Robertson, who's career ERA v. The Tribe is 4.45, and 4.38 for the year. Detroit's leading this series 2-1. There's not really much room for discussion here. The Tribe needs to win today. It's not only to stay in first place. Since there's no way for them to take the series, they must split. They gotta. They can't go around dropping series-es, especially series against teams in the Central. Byrd needs to pitch a game much as Lee pitched yesterday, but without giving up the long ball to Shelton. Not that it will matter how well, or not he pitches, if the bats don't wake the fuck up today. As evident from the first few games, we know that these boys can hit, so they, no pun intended, need to step up to the plate, and fucking do it, already.

The ChiSux, and KC go at it tonight, in Chicago, at 8:05. Starting pitcher for Chicago will probably be, Jose Contreras who has a 2.23 ERA lifetime against KC, and 1.93 ERA this year. For the Royals, Joe Mays takes the mound. He has a 4.71 ERA lifetime against the ChiSux, and huge, 12.86 for the year thus far. KC needs to keep those ChiSux bats in line to win. No homers to that puke Thome! It really would be nice to see the Royals stick to the Chisux, again this year, as they're the only team that they've had any success against.

The Twins are off today, and face the Angels tomorrow night in Minnesota at 8:05.

4.16.2006

Tigers Lead Series 2-1

Yesterday's game was good, and even though The Tribe lost this afternoon, I think it was a better game. The pitching for both teams was totally tight. Lee was on fire. The only fuck-up he made, really, was giving up that homer to Shelton. When they put Bentancourt in, holy shit, you could actually hear Lee yelling at the first base ump, calling him a motherfucker. That was cool. And Wedgie getting ejected for the first time this year? Yeah. That's a freaking ball game, baby.

Would have been nice to see the bats come alive sometime today, but Hell, it hardly ever does come together for The Tribe. Boys are hitting? Then pitching's gonna blow. Pitching's great? Then you get a game like today. All part of being a Tribe fan. Take the good with the bad.

So yeah, they lost 1-0 to the Tigers. The Tribe's still on top in the Central, by a game. They have one more game in Detroit, and hopefully they'll win it and split the series. Then it's off to Baltimore for three.

4.15.2006

Week 2 Power Rankings

So here we go. 2nd week of the season. How're we doing? Not too shabby.

FoxSports has BoSox at number 1, and The Tribe at number 2. And as I posted yesterday, ESPN has the Mets in the number one spot, and The Tribe in 2nd as well.

Tigers Top Tribe 5-1

That game, in a word, sucked.

Detroit's pitching was outstanding. Starter Rogers went 8 innings and gave up The Tribe's only run in the 6th. Rodney got the save for Detroit. The Tigers' bats were on freaking fire last night. 11 hits. 11! They deserved to win. Granderson, Shelton, Guillen, and Inge all had two hits a piece, and Ordonez, Young, and Polanco also had a hit each.

Jake pitched his first losing game of the season, and was replaced by Davis in the 7th, who actually didn't make things any worse. Cleveland still had 8 hits on the night, the boys just sucked ass at getting base runners home. Michaels, Blake, and Victor all had two hits. Grady, and Pronk each had a hit as well.

The Tribe is now tried for first place in the Central with Detroit. ChiSux, and the Twins are1 game back, and KC is back 3.5.

We get our first look at Carmona this afternoon, who is up in place of C.C. The Tigers are starting Bonderman who has like a 6-something ERA against The Tribe. I'm keepin' the faith, baby. The Tribe can take the series.

4.14.2006

Freaking PLEASE!

I really need to stop reading articles online. I really do. They just piss me off to no end. This damn Thing is over on Yahoo Sports as a preview for tonight's game. There's about 3 paragraphs on The Tribe, and most of it's shit. They give a small nod to Westbrook for how he's done this year, and then basically says he sucks balls against Detroit, bringing up stats from 2004. 2004? Yeah. That's right. 2004. What the Hell. Not one word about any other Tribe player.

Oh, and see Here, ESPN has their new Power Rankings up. The Tribe dropped to 2, and the Mets are in the number 1 spot. Heck, they do have the best record in baseball right now, who can blame them for bopping the Mets up to 1?

Tribe Lost Game & Series to Seattle

The Tribe lost yesterday's game, and the series to Seattle with a score of 9-5.

If only a ball game was just five innings long, we'd have won last night. Jason Johnson pitched good through 5, and was relived by Bentancourt in mid-6th. He got out of a bases loaded issue, and then it all kinda fell to pieces in the 7th. Sauerbeck faced one batter, and was yanked, to be replaced by Mota. Cabrera and Graves finished up the 8th & 9th. Hits, walks, walks, and more walks. God. It was honestly more painful for me to watch the later innings than a urinary tract infection. The fucking bullpen needs to get on the fucking ball a little here. We were winning this game when Johnson left.

As proven by guys that are hitting the shit outta the ball, like Ronnie, Bennie, Peralta, Grady, last night we have no problem smacking the ball around. But that doesn't win games. No shit, huh? When the bases are loaded, you don't freaking walk another batter, and allow the opposing team to score. WTF. Jesus. I was in tears.

The good thing about April Baseball is, there's alway another game, another series. So they head north and take on Detroit this weekend. Jake is going for his third consecutive win tonight. Let's hope they can kick a little Tiger ass, huh? The ChiSux are taking on the Jays in Chicago. Go Jays.

4.13.2006

No Signal

Because of how pissed I was by this, it get's its own post. Anyone else notice a little downtime last night during the game? Missed about 20-ish minutes of play. No. I was not wasted and passed out. No. I did not go for a drive. No. I did not fall asleep. Freaking STO went off the freaking air. Wednesday is (one) of my nights out at the bar. They don't have a radio there. WTF. We're paying money to see these games. All the games. Every part of every game. We can't see them when STO's signal keeps bouncing in and out. It's not the cable companies, it's not the satalite companies. It fuckin' STO. Not only that, but shit, can't the score-keeper guy figure out the correct way to mark balls, strikes, and outs in the little score thingy at the top? WTF, again. I swear I thought I was losing it, seeing 1 out, 1 ball, 2 strikes. Then heard Mike call it as 2 outs, 2 balls, and 1 strike. Why did they implent this stupid network before the kinks were all worked out? Why are we paying for this crap? Oh. Yeah. We are from NE Ohio. We are fans. We are silly about our teams. Man. Sometimes I get pissed about lovin' The Tribe.

As Long As They Get Their Pitching Together

Things will be fine. Aside from the Opener, that was the most horrendous pitching I've seen this year. What the Hell was Byrd's problem last night? Moreover, what the Hell was Wedgie's deal with leaving hime in? The damadge, I think was done, and Graves just was gonna suck no matter what.

There were some good things. Shit, we scored 9 runs. Of course there had to be some good things. Pronk and Blake were hitting the crap outta the ball. We had mostly (see below) good base-running. And we're still in 1st place, playing .750 ball.

But, I'm still trying to decide what was the worst thing about last night's game.

Was it the absurdity of the final score, which was Seatle 11,Tribe 9? I mean WTF, this is baseball boys, baseball. That looks more like a football score. Since when is scoring 9 damn runs, not enough to win a game?

Or, could it be, that the first loss at home typically is a bitter one. Yeah. Screw you Ichiro with your 3 singles last night. And screw you, too, Ibanez with your going 4-4 and 4 RBI's.

Possibly, it could have been that fucked-up-getting-picked-off-cuz-I'm-a-dumbass-thing that happened, not once, but two freaking times last night, back to back, in fact when Michaels and Peralta both got caught in rundowns. What the Hell was that about? I know I'm no pro-ball player, but I did play softball for about 10 years, and let me tell ya something, that only used to happen to the super-fat chicks that didn't pay attention.

And I can't forget about this former Tribe puke, Sexson with his god-damned grand slam. That he was once one of ours, made me just about cry last night.

So, yeah, let's get it together for tonight's game, shall we, boys? We cannot lose the series. One of the keys to making it to October, is NOT dropping series-es.

4.12.2006

Whoops

Yeah. Not sure what the Hell I did, but this whole thing was gone for a while. Back up, and blogs are actually in some sort of order over on the right. Please, please, let me know if I forgot anyone's site.

Tribe Improves to 6-1

Tribe tops Mariners 9-5, and for now stays undefeated at The Jake. The Tribe's still no. 1 in the Central, and tied w/ the BoSox for the best in the AL.

Holy Baseball Gods. What a game! Cliff Lee pitched a fine 6 innings with just 2 ER, and got the win. Cabrera came in top of the 7th gotta couple SO's. And then there was the 8th. Jesus. Talk about just about imploding, between Sauerbeck and Miller, I totally thought I was gonna stroke out. They definitely made it interesting, especially when Miller pegged Beltre in the ass, but my heart could do without the close calls. And in the 9th Betancourt came through with the save. The way every single Tribe pitcher last night kept that douche-bag Ichiro under control, was very impressive.

As for hitting, well, that was simply wonderful. Peralta and Pronk hit back-to-back homers in the 5th. The only guys to not get any hits last night were Perez and Benny who came in to pinch hit in the 8th. All told, the boys had 13 hits last night. Holy shit.

I'm going through the recaps and shit now, since I completely crashed last night as soon as the game ended. Yahoo, SI, and ESPN both have the same story Here. However, FoxSports has taken yet another opportunity to shit on The Tribe & the bullpen Here. What The Fuck! They certainly don't talk about how Miller was initially going to go in mid-6th to replace Lee, and ends up sitting for 2 more innings, and then going in for relief of Sauerbeck. Think that had something to do with his less than stellar showing last night? And the rest of the bullpen? Well, certainly it would fuck someone up to see one dude warming up in the pen, and suddenly, it's someone else that goes in for the 7th inning. So here we've got 3 news outlets with the same story, and one that tries to steel the Tribe's Thunder by giving shit to the bullpen. Our fucking team is in 1st fucking place, and this is what we get from the nation press?

Also when watching the game last night on STO, of course, they made a little announcement. And I'm kinda, sorta, pissed off about it. WKYC will be showing Talkin' Tribe Monday nights at 7pm. Uh. What? Wasn't there just a big fucking thing about STO and programming and that's why some companies were hesitant to pick it up? Why in the Hell is this on WKYC, and not STO? It's fucking bullshit that people have to pay for this station, and all that's there is the crappy pre-game/post-game stuff, and the games themselves. What genius thought this one up? Seriously.

Top 100 and Other Ramblings

FoxSports has posted the Top 100 salaried ball players. Not suprising, that there's crap-load of Damn Yankees and ChiSux on the list. Although there are some former Indians listed, no one from the current roster has made it. FoxSports also has posted Team by team payrolls. The Tribe is 24th.

As a team, they are kicking some serious ass in April. They have a better record as of this second, than, and this is just a guess, 95% (tied with BoSox) of the teams that have players in the Top 100.

I suppose we'll find out soon, if shelling out the big bucks, or not, is the way to a title. As was said in Major League "...I'd like to hang around and see if we can give 'em all a nice big shitburger to eat."

With a Sweep O'The Twins, Tribe Takes 1st

I would love to be able to say I watched Westbrook pitch the good pitch yesterday. I'd love to, but I can't. These damn allergies, and the meds I'm on have me so messed up, it's not even funny. I'm sleeping during the day, awake most of the night. Eh. Who needs this kind of stuff every spring? Apparently, The Boys kicked a little Twin City ass though, huh? Wicked.

The ChiSux won, which as bad as I'm gonna hate myself for saying this, I gotta say it anyway; Detroit needed to loose, preferably to a team in the Central. It's just completely unheard of, in my life time, for freaking Detroit to go 5-0. OOOO. Looky here. The Tigers lost today as well.

But there's a downside. Isn't there always a downside when dealing with these Central Division shmucks? Ok. Ready? Deep breath. Swig of beer. Light a smoke. This guy, this moke, from Detroit, Chris Shelton was named AL Player of the week. This pisses me off because, well, it just pisses me off. Not saying the dude doesn't deserve it, he does. He totally racked up some kick ass numbers last week. But, come the fuck on! He's from freaking Detroit. This is a laugh in the face of The Baseball Gods. I would have loved to see one of our boys get it, this first week. It would have set an awesome tone for the upcoming Seattle Series.

I'm looking at the Standings and am really impressed. Really. We're in 1st in the Central, KC's not doing too bad, I always was a little bit of a Royals fan, and as much as I loathe the BoSox, any team that can work to keep the Damn Yankees in the cold, dark cellar, where those bad boys belong, needs to be given some props.

Oh, hey, this is cool. Wickie is just 2 saves shy of Doug Jones' club record of 129. I hope, truly hope, that the boys will be playing at The Jake when he gets the new record. The fans will be off the hook. And it'd be a nice little "fuck you" to whoever they happen to be playing at the time.

As a small side note, and this has never happened to me before. Not in all my 26 years. Not ever. I don't have a favorite player! How could this have happened? Granted I haven't always picked the most talented guys as my favs, *enter Jacoby, Snyder, Tabbler, Sandy, and the man that broke my heart, Thome, the bastard,* but I've always had at least one fav, no matter how much The Tribe sucked wind. Aw, crap. What's a girl to do when she has no favorite player?

Tribe Takes 2 From The Twins!

For all the crap I read yesterday about Jason Johnson sucking ass against the Twins, I really thought he'd have been outta the game by the 4th inning. Always good to be suprised. Aside from Pronk's hitting, the game was actually kinda boring. It was nice to see Mota pitch up the middle, and Wickie who got the save, but not a lot of excitement overall. I was completely disappointed that Vazquez didn't hit better. As the occasional player, he really needs to make a stand when he gets the opportunity.

The Chisux are getting their asses handed to them by the Royals. Go KC, go. Detroit is still in 1st place. It's totally gonna be an interesting year for the Central Division.

Power Rankings Are In, Baby

Woh. ESPN has The Tribe ranked 1st, while FoxSports has them ranked 6th. WTF?

ESPN's rankings to me, basically say well heck, if you can take a series from the ChiSux, then by all means, you get the top spot, but it doesn't really give The Tribe credit for outstanding performances thus far in the season.

Fox basically has shit on The Tribe, which is nothing new, due to the loss of C.C. Please. He's a great pitcher, but he is not the be all, end all for the team. We have other good starters, a strong bullpen, and strong closers. Just as important as pitching, we have good fielders, and we have some guys that are hitting the fuck outta the ball.

Tribe Wins Home Opener!

Holy Baseball Gods. What a way to win the Home Opener. It all came together yesterday afternoon, and it was beautiful! From Blake's Grand Freaking Slam, (which BTW, when he hit it, I scared the shit outta my husband, screaming like a loon,) and Pronk's 2 Homers, to Byrd's, Miller's, and Cabrera's pitching. The boys hit when they needed to, the bullpen didn't choke. The only downer, in my view, is that Detroit won as well, and is still in 1st place. It's still early, I know. I'll actually be pretty happy if The Tribe just takes the series against the Twins, no need for a sweep, although that would be bitchin' cool. Hopefully, Friday's game will finally make the crap-ass reporters who've been shitting on The Tribe, shut the fuck up already.

Yesterday's game brings up a theory I've had since forever. Score early. Score often. This is another thing I'm gonna research one day, the percentage of games won by the team that has scored first. The psychological effects of this theory, IMHO, are enormous. From the hitting stand point, it takes pressure off the batter so they can get up, and just hit, and not have to worry about swinging for the fences, or freaking out because it's up to them to get on base. It gives run support to the pitcher so they can do what they gotta, and even if one gets away from them, it's still ok, and not gonna cost them the game. For the team itself, well, Hell, the emotion, the competitiveness, carries over, and everyone gets jacked up, and they WIN, usually.

The game yesterday was the first one on WKYC. I was not impressed to say the least. I love Jimmy Donovan, have since I was knee high to a grasshopper, but he really should stick to the Browns. He is not a baseball announcer. Part of it I'm sure is because I'm used to hearing Jimmy in the fall, but I still felt like I was listening to a weird football version of baseball, until I got with it, and turned on Tom and WTAM.

Unless You've Been Living In A Cave...

You know today is Opening Day. And in typical NE Ohio fashion for Opening Days, it's crappy weather outside. Slated to be cloudy and rainy all afternoon. Could be worse though, at least it's not gonna snow. And surprisingly enough, after all the stuff with STO, this game is on WKYC with the usual pre-game-opening-day-hoopla staring at 1pm. As I've got yet another doctor's appointment today, I'm gonna miss most of the pre-game. Thank The Baseball Gods for TiVo.

Grrr.

I'm so very tired of reading pieces like This. Last year was last freaking year, already. And ya know, that last week really wouldn't, and shouldn't have mattered if The Tribe did better the first half of 2005. Lately it seams to me that most pieces are leading off, or a least included someplace, with the crap-ass finish from last season. I wish that writers could focus on the improvements that have been made, and perhaps a be realistic, if not optimistic about The Tribe this year.

AL Central Standings

Ok, Ok. I know it's less than a week into the new season, and not everyone has played the same amount of games. I know that anything can happen, but this still totally bugs the shit out of me. And just isn't right.

Detroit is in 1st place. WTF. The Tigers? 1st place? This is like, totally a bad omen. This is worse than having C.C. on the DL. However much I love reading this Blog, I can't agree with Tuesday's post in regards to C.C.

Tribe Takes Series!

Yeah, baby, yeah! They won today, in extra innings. They took the series! Awesome. And that homer that Pronk hit? Holy crap. It went father than Thome's Sunday night. Wickman got his first save opportunity, and didn't choke. Take that, Chicago, take that.

I'd love to say I watched most of the game, but honestly I only saw from the 7th inning on. Allergies are acting up, and I totally slept most of the afternoon. But watching the recap, and the last few innings was OK. Kinda mad at myself though.

Last night at the bar, had some interesting conversations about The Tribe with a couple of the guys. One dude thinks, no knows, that the Central is gonna end up 1. Twins, 2. ChiSux, 3. Tribe. It's possible, but I really don't think so. I don't think Twins are gonna be above 3rd or 4th. It's gonna come down to the ChiSux, and The Tribe. And I really feel that The Tribe is gonna pull it off this year. Forget the Wild Card, they're gonna end up on top, and by more than a game or two. I'm thinkg 6 is a good number. Maybe I'm dreaming, but the other dude I was talking with agreed. And the guy has more than a few decades of sports history under his belt than I do, so he knows his stuff. It's not just wishfull thinking.

Tribe Takes Game 2 From The ChiSux

The Tribe won. 8-2. Not that I had my doubts. I still have some of my six-pack left. Jake Westbrook did great. Aaron Boone is my hero, especially for the way he took out A.J. Pierzynski. Victor Martinez also homered. But the best, I mean the most awesome-est thing ever, was when Jake Westbrook knocked Jim Thome in the dirt. That was too cool. Oh, yeah. The ChiSux got their rings today, as well. What a way to steel their thunder boys, with a win like that after Sunday's loss.

I was not impressed with STO thus far. The signal kept bouncing in and out. There was about a 10-15 second delay from 'TAM. They're showing the same commercials that FSNOhio has shown for years. Glad I had Tom on.

C.C. Sabathia is definately on the 15-day DL. Ok, so yeah, it sucks. He's a really great pitcher. But over the course of time in the majors, he hasn't been injury prone, and aside from last year, has never been on the DL, so get over it. And The Tribe has some really good talent to use in the mean time. Talent we might not see if not for this little bump in the road to October. Things could be way worse for C.C. and The Tribe. Remember Sandy Alomar Jr.? Yeah. That's what I'm talkin' about. He was on the DL just about every season I can remember, and that was back when I was just a kid, AKA when The Tribe really used to suck.

Seriously. WTF.

Another couple of writers take the opportunity to give props to the ChiSux, and shit on The Tribe, Here and Here.

Is this what we're in for all freaking season? Thome was The Putz From Peoria when he was in Cleveland, and it didn't matter that he could hit. The announcers, the reporters raved over his strike outs & walks though, that's for sure. Do you remember those games on Fox, where the announcers were making fun of him because of the sox thing? I do. And now, it's like the most clever thing ever done by a ball player. And so what that the dude hit a 431 foot homer Sunday night. SO WHAT! He hit like over a 500 footer at the Jake a few years ago.

But what happens in the past doesn't matter. B.S. If it didn't, reporters wouldn't be going on, and on, and on, until my head wants to explode about The World Champion ChiSux, and how The Tribe bombed the last week of the season. Last year people. That's right. Last freaking year. It's a new season, baby. Get the fuck over it, already.

If I hadn't gotten most of my work done today, I wouldn't have been surfing, and finding these horrendous articles about The Tribe. At this rate, I'm going to done with my six-pack before the 7th inning stretch. Crap.

All Right!

Thank the Baseball Gods!!!!!! DirecTV finally signed with STO!!!!! Unfortunately not every DirecTV customer will be able to recieve the station, but for those of us fortunate enough to get it, STO will be channel 657. ***Sonofbitch!*** Had to order a sports package to get STO, can't just get one damn channel. Cost before discount is $12/month. I'm getting it for $2/month for 6 months, because I have the HBO Pack, and Show Time Pack. Not really minding the $2, more so that I'm paying for like 10 other channels, that will never be watched, unless my big brother comes over and wants to see The Hunting channel, or whatever the Hell it's called.

Even though I can get the channel, most likely I'll still go with my initial game plan. Watch, with the volume down, and listen to 'TAM. I love hearing Tom!

Hopefully today, Westbrook will not be a pussy, and nail Thome with a fastball. Or maybe, as he's lumbering down the first-baseline like a Mac Truck, he'll jack up his back, and be on the DL for the rest of the year. Hey, no one really expected C.C. to get hurt Sunday night. Gotta be an optimist, I think. It kills me to wish bad will towards Thome, since I absolutely adored him. Hell, I was gonna marry him one day. I still liked him when he went to the Phillies. But this, this ChiSux thing, just makes me wanna puke all over him. So get hurt today, you bastard!

Sunday night's game, while extremely disappointing, wasn't the end of the world. I mean, Jesus. There's like 160-some games left. But to read ESPN, The Tribe is gonna blow all year long. I hate ESPN. I'm never watching, or reding them again. All they do is shit on Cleveland. I started thinking about this, and will have to do a little research, but I swear it's true. Almost everytime I can remember, at least in recent years, The Tribe usually sucks big hairy monkey balls when they're on ESPN. I'm gonna start calling it the ESPN Curse.

Play Delay

I've been waiting for this day, actually counting down for the last 3 months.

C.C. got hurt in the 3rd, rain delay in the 4th, and the ChiSux are currently stomping on The Tribe with a score of 10-3, the game's on freaking ESPN2, and I have alcohol in the house.

This is NOT how Opening Day should go.

The Tribe still has my complete faith. Just wish they'd have a better showing, and not walk about a million guys per inning.

And that someone, anyone, would beam Thome in his dirty, bastard, head.

4.01.2006

One More Day To Go, Baby

I'm of two minds about The Game tomorrow. Part of me is so freaking excited about The Season finally begining I'm practically bouncing off the wall. But the other part, the part of me I call crazy-psycho-bitch is really upset that The Game is on ESPN.

Certianly some of the hatred for ESPN comes from not having cable for the first 18 years of my life and watching The Tribe on WUAB growing up. I got used to those guys. After The Tribe moved to FSN, I wasn't happy then, either. But well, it is The Tribe, so I sucked it up and watched. But every so often ESPN has to pick up what they think is gonna be a "big game." The Tribe'll be on, and the announcers will shit all over them no matter how well, or not so well that they play. The ChiSux will get some serious props, and will be equated to te next best thing since sliced bread. Not that it matters that The Tribe is playing those jerks, they could play a bunch of dudes that kicked off a million years ago, and still, the stiffs would still get all fuss. It really does make it worse though that it is the ChiSux.

We don't need dugout interviews, reports from the field, or smartass anouncer shit from inside the booth. Just show the game damnit. They're almost as bad as those douche bags on Fox.
