My First Game of Spring Training
It was awesome to see the spring training game on ESPN yesterday afternoon. Ok, awesome isn't exactly the correct word. I despise ESPN announcers. I wanna watch some baseball damnit, not watch the inside of the sportscaster's booth. Honestly they showed those two guys more than they showed the field. And really, who gives a crap about the Mets? I'm sure all of Cleveland was tuned into this game, because as we all know, most of us may not be able to watch The Tribe this season. And instead of catering to about a billion Clevelanders, and getting higher ratings, they talk, endlessly about the Mets. Why did about 6 1/2 innings go by with hardly any actual announcing, but had a bunch of hoopla about the Mets, their GM, their prospects, and whatever the entire team had for supper last night? Oh, and don't forget about Julio Franco. Wait. What? Julio Franco? The Julio Franco? The former Indian, Julio Franco? He's with the Mets? Holy shit. I thought he was about 115, and dead. Well, Mesa pitched for us until he was in his 40's. So why shouldn't Franco still be playing at 45? Oh yeah. That's right. Mesa was good, at least until The World Series.
